Appreciate the acknowledgement. :)

I'm not sure why there are uproars to this, it's not like this would be
forced on anyone. I think this would be a great service to offer clients
with multiple domains. Some have only a few but are still interested in
something like this. It would be optimal if they only paid what would be
needed to sync them, but barring that, I think some are definitely
interested enough that they wouldn't mind losing a few to several months to
do this. Maybe instead of a "per domain" round-up, it could be "per
batch"... For example, say the client owned three domains with the
following renewal dates:

example.com 9/2/02
example.net 2/14/03
example.org 7/31/03

If we were going to sync them to the furthest date out, 7/31/03, we'd need
to add 10 months, 29 days to the first and 5 months, 17 days to the
second. Together, that's 16 months, 16 days (using 30 days/month on
average). The cost to the client would be 2 years.

Okay, that wasn't a perfect example since they'd need two years either
way. Okay, how about:

example2.com 1/15/03 +7m 4d
example2.net 6/21/03 +1m 28d
example2.org 8/19/03

Same situation, syncing to furthest date out, 8/19/03. This time, the
combined adjustment is less than one year. So instead of charging two
years (one each) we round up from the combined adjustment to one year.

Just food for thought. I'd definitely like to be able to offer this. I
bet we'd even get transfers from other registrars based solely on this
capability, if nothing else.

If this is really a possibility, consider that we're discussing this in the
open and OpenSRS competitors are now thinking about this as well.
