It would be ideal if IDNs worked perfectly, but there are still problems. It is in everyone's interest to work towards resolving the remaining problems.
However, the reality is that registrants will need to pay to renew come March. I suspect that there will be significant numbers of registrants that will chose to pay to renew. I am suggesting that enabling the ability to renew IDNs will benefit everyone involved - including the registrant. After all, it is the registrant that decides if there is sufficient value to lay down some more money to renew. We all need to decide how we will respond to Versign's decision to charge for IDN renewals. I believe that it is in the best interest of both your customers and yourself to enable these renewals.
