Sorry for not getting back to everyone on this sooner, however, this is an
unprecedented implementation and we wanted to ensure we had thought through
the issues for us, for our resellers and for your customers.

We have reviewed the manual process that we must use with this service and
have worked to remove any unnecessary steps. We have been listening to your
comments on discuss list and talking with a few Resellers who have customers
asking for this service.

As a result of this we have concluded:

1)The Registry is charging the registrar a perceptively large fee compared
to most fees associated with a domain ($85).
2)There is a limited scope for this product as it affects a very small
portion of registrants.
3)Anyone using this service would use it as a last resort Based on the above
assumptions we have decided to offer this service at a cost recovery price.

The price will be $125, plus the renewal of one year at your standard
renewal pricing.

This week we are starting a weekly conference service to discuss major
issues and research we have put together on reseller related topics. This
week we will be discussing our new Email service and why you should offer it
and/or seriously consider outsourcing this service to Tucows. I will do a
follow up email to the list this afternoon as an invitation to all
interested.

In the coming weeks, we have plans for a RENEWALS WORKSHOP, please stay
tuned and keep an eye out for further communication regarding this workshop
so you may do the best job possible in ensuring your registrants never have
to 'redeem' their domain.

Thanks for all of your feedback and support.

That was a number that an opensrs reseller mentioned. They said that an
opensrs employee had mentioned $200. I've yet to see a solid confirmation
of this by someone from Opensrs on this list.
