Entgegen frueheren Ankuendigungen loescht PIR zum 1. Februar ersatzlos alle bereits registrierten multi- lingualen .org-Domains. Deren genaue Zahl ist unbekannt; die .org-Domain der norwegischen Stadt Tromsoe (mit durchgestri- chenem "o" an letzer Stelle, als RACE-Domain im Format bq--ab2he33nop4a.org) sowie zahlreiche Domains in asiatischen Schriftzeichen zeigen aber mit Eintraegen im WHOIS-Verzeichnis, dass durchaus einige IDNs unter .org registriert waren. Zur Begruendung fuer die Loeschung verwies PIR unter anderem auf technische Probleme bei eMails sowie der Umcodierung von RACE nach Punycode. Ab wann Umlaut-Domains dann auch unterhalb von .org erhaeltlich sind, ist derzeit nicht bekannt.
