Unfortunately Verisign doesn't know how to keep their systems running
24/7.

Yeah, it's not possible to queue anything when OpenSRS is down for
maintenance.  I forgot to mention in a prior posting that I think the
"queuing" information in the scheduled maintenance notice is just
boilerplate text and the person sending the notice didn't realize or
understand what it meant.  The same goes for the "outage affects all
registrars equally"--that statement does not apply when OpenSRS is
shutting down their systems for maintenance in addition to the registries
maintenance since all other registries do not use OpenSRS to function
(i.e. the only part that affected all registrars was the Verisign
maintenance)...

I believe Tucows needs to do a better job in reviewing the maintenance
notices to make sure they are completely accurate before sending them out.
