Perhaps the person writing the > notice doesn't know. Which begs the question... Why the need to take all of the administrative functions of OpenSRS out of commission when the registry for .com, .net, .name, .cc and .tv goes offline for 12 hours? Why in the world does that need to affect things like DNS and email provisioning? The only answer that makes sense? Because email, dns, ssl certs are all secondary products (at best) in Tucows view and they can't be bothered with trying to keep them operating when given half an excuse to shut everything down during a very prolonged "maintenance window". Tucows must not realize how many of their customers are charged with supporting systems that MUST be maintained and operational 24x7. This is yet another reason why most of the services provided by Tucows are not yet ready for prime time and aren't being taken seriously by many of their customers.
