We could definitely make such a thing but we risk the possibilities
and network effects that accompany the enormous dataset found in a
service like Last.fm.

What do you think? How many people is needed for it to be useful?

That I laugh at such a statement reveals something significant about
the gap between my music participation habits and the legal structure
that disciplines them.
