Actually, it works out to 16 types: 2x2x2x2. I have conflicting feelings about the Myers-Briggs. On one hand, I think it is great for unobservant folks who might not be aware of the behaviors and needs of others on their team. It is a good way to say "Hey, Jim actually needs people to shut the heck up for a while so that he can feel comfortable participating." in a friendly, everyone-participates sort of way. On the other hand, I've seen it used as a crutch or an excuse for behavior unbefitting professionals "Well, my type says that my confidence can be mistaken for arrogance" reasoning doesn't overcome actual arrogance. And I've been a part of full-day role-playing sessions that revolve around type.
