No offense and please don't take this the wrong way Dave, but I find this line of reasoning to be a bit odd. I'm now heading into designing software for nearly 20 years. I've helped to design everything from Photoshop to Illustrator to InDesign to cutting my teeth on designing 3D modeling, rendering and animation software back before hardware could easily support it. I've designed large enterprise web-based enterprise applications along the lines of a PeopleSoft type of thing to simpler B2B verticals. I've helped on video editing software like Premiere and AfterEffects, oversaw the design efforts of various versions of Acrobat, and have designed my own blog to carve out my space on the web. These days, I've been doing all sorts of design and managing of products ranging from browser based web site creation tools to social networking for gamers to consumer level software products. And even now, with all that experience, I'm still surprised at how things play out -- even the things I've done before and have a reasonable expectation of what it will end up like -- whenever we build prototypes of the things I or anyone here at the studio designs. In fact, it's the one thing that brings me the most joy: Watching something come to life from scratch. I'm not sure how anyone can feel they've "seen it all" in this field. And if I ever do feel that way, I think I'd need to quit my job and go paint in a field somewhere to fight off the depression. In fact, I pray that I'm learning something new and seeing something new right up to the day I stop seeing. -- Andrei Herasimchuk Principal, Involution Studios innovating the digital world e.
