It is somewhat like naming contemporary artists. If you aren't an artist, you likely can only name famous artists from 50-100 years ago. Maybe the 70s... But artists working right now? Not so much.
Some of our fathers are pretty famous. And there have been a few books on IxD that broke out of the IxD camp. Cooper and Platt have books that come to mind. And Tufte and McLuhan and Gladwell could all be considered our fathers and are pretty famous, at least in wider circles than our own stars. I mean. Right now our brightest stars can almost all be contacted directly through this list. And many participate regularly.
