It's a good thought - many charity sites need help in this regard. Last Christmas, the various branches of my family all suggested favorite charities to donate to, and I had the opportunity to make use of three different ones - all were clunky, awkward, and needlessly discouraging to someone trying to donate. Doctors Without Borders, for example, has 27 drop-down title options alone!
Perhaps it's as simple as creating a customizable free interface, designed for charities, and providing the necessary downloadable files for a variety of technologies free online. Our very own IxDA charitable offering :-) I'll help. P.S.
