I know I wouldn't respond to a $100k advertisement. Unless it was part-time or offered magnificent benefits or something like that. Then again, I live in Boston, which is way up there on the cost of living index. It absolutely *does* depend on geographic region. Case and point. The job market around here demands a higher salary than that. For a senior level position. And so far, I've never had even the slightest difficulty finding something over $120k. Then again, I spend $2k a year for lunch in the food court, $3k a year to ride the T to work. Some people pay $3k a year for a parking space at the office. Etc etc. Cost of living.
