the flip side of this is that tech companies (especially Internet companies) 
are finally starting to realize the value of telecommute both for employee 
satisfaction and reducing unnecessary opex every month (paying for cubes is 
expensive). I'm not sure why it took so long, but an increasing number of 
companies are looking favorably (or even strongly encouraging) 
remote/telecommute work for their employees. Maybe it just took ubiquitous 
video chat and webex to make the management happy …
