There has been some discussion by the board and tech team about forums, mailing lists, how they relate, and what LOPSA should do to serve sysadmins best. More opinions to get a better sense of what the community wants would be great.
As for my own impressions, it seems that there are likely to be some folks that will always prefer a mailing list while web forums are also serving some very large communities these days. So forums probably deserve some attention and testing. A web forum with a good email gateway sounds nice but I'm not sure I have seen one that I like.
