I can second the recommendation of the Timbuk2 bag, I used one every day riding my bike to work for 5 years and got tired of it way before it wore out. If you order a custom one off their site it, it will still be made in the US. I currently switch between two bags, depending on if I¹m on an airplane or not.
The first one is a slightly older version of this: http://www.timbuk2.com/tb2/products/core-laptop-briefcase It fits under the seat in front of me with plenty of room for my legs too. It doesn¹t hold much more than the laptop, my kindle, a pair of earbuds and some hand sanitizer, but it¹s great to still have legroom and a bag. The second choice is this bombproof backpack from Mission Workshop: http://missionworkshop.com/products/bags/backpacks/roll_top/medium_rambler. php I¹ve been taking my laptop to work almost every day in this bag for 3+ years and it still looks brand new. The bag expands to carry just about anything (you can basically fit a spare bike wheel in there), but it¹s snug and small against my back when it is all tightened down. It¹s completely rain-proof, I¹ve peddled to work in cats & dogs downpours without anything in the bag getting wet. -- Jonah Horowitz From: William Bilancio <[email protected]> Date: Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 10:53 AM To: "[email protected]" <[email protected]>, "[email protected]" <[email protected]> Subject: [lopsa-discuss] Backpack or bag what do you use? It's that time of year again. I am looking for a good bag to carry my tech books and maybe my laptop. I currently have one of these (http://tinyurl.com/l7jw733) that I use with my Macbook Pro 15", but it doesn't have a good amount of room for much else then the laptop and the power cord and a few papers. So I am wondering what you all use for a bag to carry books/stuff in with or with out your laptop. So send me links of the bag you use/like and let me know why you like it.
