Again why do you want iPeng to do this? You are going to complicate
your system and make it unusable if you use any other source to control
any of your devices (for example you use the web gui or another
controller).  iPeng is just sending its requests to the SC server who
in turn tells the affected devices what to do. The SC server
orchestrates the entire porfolio of both software emulators and real
squeezebox devices and in fact iPeng too.

Today iPeng is just a nice front end to a limited amount of features of
the squeezecenter.  Pippin can give you some ideas of things he plans to
enrich that user experience and even some things he wants to do locally,
but anything he puts on locally will be isolated to only iPeng and you
will leave the domain of what SqueezeCenter is all about.  Nothing
wrong with that (ie local play of mp3 files) but its dangerous ground
in my opinion if we ask him to try to circumvent the architecture that
is already in place to unify the management of the collected set of SC
assets.
