Actually MOST of the newer plugins support the controller in that they push menus to it: Erland's plugins, Sirius Radio, Album Review, Biography, CD Player, you name it. These will run with iPeng. This is still different from what old plugins that only use the SB1-3 screen or the Web Interface do. These will NOT yet run with iPeng and I will have to see whether I will support them later. Technically, I think it would not be THAT complex, yet the question is whether it's still worth it.
Now any plugin that doesn't use ANY UI (there are some) or uses XMLBrowser (like most of the Radios) do already work with iPeng today. So if you want to write a new plugin TODAY that is supposed to be supported by iPeng you could probably start by writing one that supports SBC (and omit use of all-too-fancy key codings). > > The point I was making about isolating a plugin for iPeng only is that > if its really an app that runs on iPeng, it would result in iPeng being > the only way to achieve that same functionality or else what is really > going on is that you are using some unique plugin capability you built > inside of iPeng and then you turned around and drove the same function > to the Squeezecenter. There will be very likely some enhancements to the protocol for iPeng that I'll propose (stuff that's simply different; transparent icons and things...) but that should generally not hinder support for other devices, notably the SBC (and SqueezePlay) except if you code for iPeng's very special capabilities whatever those will be (right now there would probably be none). -- pippin --- see iPeng at penguinlovesmusic.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55514 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
