My $0.02: I'd bet it's a wireless issue. I have a boom and 4 SB3's and never noticed a difference. The only time I get slow scrolling the the SB3 is when there is a wireless problem.
Edit: try taking the SB3 to your router and plugging it in with an ethernet cable. If the scrolling performance changes then it was a wireless problem.
