Why? If you connect your SB to mysb.com and make a change while
attached to mysb.com, if you're syncing the settings, wouldn't you
expect SbS to take the new setting from mysb.com? I think the way it's
done is to timestamp all settings on either end. Look in your SbS
server.prefs file and you'll see quite a few entries like
Code:
--------------------
_client:00:04:20:06:4c:57:
_ts_activeFont: 1263382686
_ts_activeFont_curr: 1263236618
_ts_alarmDefaultVolume: 1263236618
_ts_alarmSnoozeSeconds: 1263236618
_ts_alarmTimeoutSeconds: 1263236618
_ts_alarmfadeseconds: 1263236618
_ts_alarms: 1263236618
_ts_alarmsEnabled: 1263236618
_ts_alarmsaver: 1263236618
_ts_alwaysShowCount: 1263236618
_ts_bass: 1263236618
--------------------
These are timestamps for the settings, I believe. And my guess is that
there are similar timestamps in a gigantic database on mysb.com. The
later of the two should win and determine in which direction the syncing
is done.
But obviously something isn't working correctly in the mechanism. It
might not be a bad idea, though, to also offer some manual syncing, such
as the ability to push all SbS settings to mysb.com or vice-versa,
overriding the two-way syncing.
Disabling the syncing in the SbS settings should also protect the SbS
settings from being changed, but I'm not totally convinced that works
correctly, either.
