'LIRCd' (http://www.lirc.org/) is probably what should be used on the Community SB to handle sending/receiving IR. It's been around a long time and is well tested.
The current board has a db9 serial for which there are many IR S/Rs available, it doesn't have to be used for the serial tty login. There is also a couple 'gpio lirc kernel drivers' (http://aron.ws/projects/lirc_rpi/) available so we'd have 2 options without resorting to using up a usb port for IR. The IRBlaster plugin could be modified to talk to an lirc daemon via the unix domain socket support already available for controlling other equipment with IR. Receiving IR back to the server from the device will be a bit more challenging as John suggests. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ralphy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3484 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98179 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
