It really looks like a faulty SB3. This can happen with either a faulty WiFi card, in which case if you try the ethernet connection *and* sometimes removing the WiFi card itself, it will work, but sometimes even the ethernet connection itself fails. At least one verified caused of that are failing capacitor on the SB3 motherboard. I've just repared 2 of these with exactly the same issue over the past couple of weeks. LMS 7.7, 7.8 and 7.9 - 5xRadio, 3xBoom, 4xDuet, 1xTouch, 1 SB2.
