Multi zone amps are all well and good, but it means you have to listen to the same thing in every location. With multiple SBs you can be listening to completely different things in different parts of the house. For me, having two SBs means i don't have to have the power hungry amp and subwoofer switched on when all i want to do is listen to BBC radio in my bed and use it as an alarm clock.
