... with you Mr MelonMonkey, I run Slimserver from a QNAP TS-101 NAS that I bought specifically for the job as I liked the idea of a dedicated machine with a small power need. It's just too slow!
Streaming seems fine. Maybe I use it differently from most others but I want view and play around with my collection from my PDA, Laptop or PC. Doing so is just like, as you say, loading a graphically intensive site from a poor/ overloaded server. And how many times have you hung around for the pages to load?!! It spoils the whole experience for me - may have to put Slimserver back on a (fast) PC.
