Many people hook their Squeezeboxes up to a receiver to replace their CD player. Most receivers possess at least some sort of basic tone/bass control to help personalize the sound of their music. I don't know about you, but I can't stand a flat, non-eq'd audio source when I am listening for enjoyment.
