I've been considering getting a CISSP and taking the Cisco track as far as 
one can without being a hands-on cisco networking guy (given all the 
tracks that Cisco has now, there should be some advanced certs I can get 
which don't require hands-on knowledge of BGP).

There are too many middle managers that I have to deal with who would be 
easily impressed by those kinds of things and that would be useful to me.
