Placing folders on the dock

Hi everyone.  I'm wondering if there is a way for us to place folders  
on the dock.  I tried the VO drag and drop feature, but had no luck.   
Now that you can have stacks show up as a list, I wouldn't mind having  
some folders down there, specifically the applications folder.  Any  
thoughts?
