But this is the kind of message Lewis is spreading around the internet. I feel this is actually *hurting* blind Mac users, both in standing within the Mac community and credibility when requesting assistance from sighted Mac users.
It takes little effort to find more such posts: Google for "Lewis Brock Totally blind" or "Lewis Brock mac urgent". I spent less than 30 minutes earlier in the week, and found 3 other places (Gumtree, MacRumours forums and another I forget off the top of my head) where Lewis made these claims. Others on the LEM list have uncovered more, including one where he claims he needs a Uilleann pipes set for free.
At the end of the day, it's not my place to judge him. I'd simply ask that you take notice of what I'm saying and decide for yourselves if his blatant abuse of his disability is something you want or need to have associated with your group.
To Lewis: your disability is terrible. I feel for you. But using it as an excuse to lie and cheat yourself in to gaining hardware - this is just wrong. I'm not interested in hounding you, but I'm also not willing to sit back and let you make the LEM lists seem like a bunch of evil people. We were willing to help, you messed up. You lied. End of story.
