Goodness gracious! I've been on many lists, and I've seen many people
get slammed, bashed, and threatened. Never have I seen such ferocity
against one fellow as that which has been thrown at my very fine
friend, Lewis Brock. I'm not going to go into a long email about how
great Lewis is. He is a very decent and up-standing fellow, and he
knows the rest. I respect his experience, and he respects mine. We
have become excellent friends, and I will vouch for the truth behind
all that he says. I've talked to him many times in private, and I've
seen his experience in action, and I've heard all the good that is in
the old boy. It's late here in the U S of A, and I'm tired. However,
I couldn't let my good old pal get blasted without saying something in
a little short note. God bless you Lewis, and God bless the other
fine people on this list. Let's get back to the Mac, as that is
absolutely what this list is for, as Justin points out in his email.

I'd just like to point out that this is a list designed for
discussions on the mac platform, not blindness politics and
philosophy. If you want to talk about that go join an NFB or ACB
list. It certainly is not a list to discuss or call into question,
the quality of people's character.

But this is the kind of message Lewis is spreading around the

It takes little effort to find more such posts: Google for "Lewis
Brock Totally blind" or "Lewis Brock mac urgent". I spent less
than 30 minutes earlier in the week, and found 3 other places
(Gumtree, MacRumours forums and another I forget off the top of my
head) where Lewis made these claims. Others on the LEM list have
uncovered more, including one where he claims he needs a Uilleann
pipes set for free.
At the end of the day, it's not my place to judge him. I'd simply
ask that you take notice of what I'm saying and decide for
yourselves if his blatant abuse of his disability is something you
want or need to have associated with your group.
To Lewis: your disability is terrible. I feel for you. But using it
as an excuse to lie and cheat yourself in to gaining hardware -
this is just wrong. I'm not interested in hounding you, but I'm
also not willing to sit back and let you make the LEM lists seem
like a bunch of evil people. We were willing to help, you messed
up. You lied. End of story.
