You're dam sure wright because I just created one. Document creation was one of the first questions I asked about before switching to the Mac and everyone said stay away from it and go with Bean, Latex and Nisus Writer Pro for the heavy lifting, so I immediately did just that. Thinking that they knew best. Man was I and am I wrong for this line of thought. Thanks councilor.

I think the problem in the conversation here is that you are not aware of just how much TextEdit is capable of, probably mislead by its name. It can do many of the things you're claiming it can't, like tables and forms.

If typing is all you want as far as functionality goes then MS Word and Pages is over kill, but if text formatting is important then you'll need something more robust.
