I didn't write it's easy - but it's still a bug that there is an option that doesn't work. If a different behavior is required for Writer/Impress and Calc (why ever - I don't see any reason for this) it must be implemented as module specific setting. A bug shouldn't be called a feature just because it's not easy to fix it.
