I dunno about MS I dont have their suite, however I know it would be
achievable to solve a lot of companies issues and promote the use of
Master documents.

Like MS Works? It was not exactly a commercial success.
What you really want is some form of of distributed SCM with access
rights
and possibly Open Document awareness. Distributing files and handling
their revision cycle is the #1 problem in a collaboration setup. It's not
an office suite-level problem, like Writer/Word is not an adequate mail
client.
I should know I spent 4 years working for a start-up in the collaborative
space.
