Hi Mike,

Migrating your documents to ODF is usually the best solution. If you are still using MS Office make sure to install the ODF-plugin to make the documents available for everybody.

I have a hybrid network with OOo on several workstations and Microsoft on several. I am migrating to OOo from MS gradually. All of the stored documents are in MS format and some are password protected. When opened in MS the user is prompted for a password; however, when opened in OOo the document opens! What's worse the user is able to modify the original!

I am using the newest version of OOo. The MS versions are 2k3 Pro and XP Pro for the most part. Any ideas how to fix the compatibility (and security) issue?

Any info greatly appreciated.
