I'm not complaining, just pointing out that all is perhaps not as
straightforward you suggest.

For completeness, I'll point out that the copy on /this/ box, which is a
10.04 ubuntu running something advertising itself as "oracle
openoffice.org 3.2" "ooo-build 3.2.0.10 debian 1:3.2.0-7ubuntu4.1",
offers the following under the 'help' menu:
openoffice.org help (F1)
what's this
support
translate this application
about openoffice.org

where 'support' takes you directly to an unhelpfully non-specific ubuntu
page. Presumably someone has changed the menu between 3.2.0 and 3.2.1.
Although I'm not clear where you have obtained 3.2.1 from - I seem to
have the latest versions from the ubuntu repositories according to synaptic.

OK, not so many run linux compared to windows. But my point stands, that
"help|support" may not be so helpful to a newbie as you suggested.

Bandwidth is cheaper than wasted time. If it's a real problem, a
get-you-started guide should still be included. Plus /very/ /very/ clear
pointers that a proper (-ish) manual exists and where to get it.
Regrettably, as is all too evident on the users list, many people really
do seem to need spoonfeeding.
