I visited that site, and the first problem, too much
choice! It is positively confusing, which manual should I
download, should I download all of them and then delete
the ones that aren't helpful? I still say, put a good all
purpose beginners user manual right in the download
package in order to make it easy. Don't make newbies have
to jump through hoops!
I'm certainly not new to OO.o, but I agree with this writer
about the level of choice. There needs to be some winnowing
of the documents by people who know both OO.o, its
documents, and have some experience with new people. Offer
an initial 'get started" document and pointers to other
carefully chosen documents.
I would have liked to have one of the start up documents
when I was a beginner. Jean offered a book early on for
money early on and it was well worth the few dollars paid
for it.
Thanks to Jean, and documentation writers.
