I wouldn't have a problem either. I also wouldn't ever sponsor or even
vote on membership for someone who actively refuses to participate in
the space and makes it a point to avoid others but still wants a key. I
only want people that the membership feels comfortable around and trusts
to be able to play with our Nice Things.

How about "budding nerd"? The "serious geeks" are serious enough to want
a key.

If we have any current members who have not applied for a key but expect
24 hour access, I would like to meet them and figure out where they
heard that. We have been very clear to everyone that a key to the space
isn't handed out just because you're a member.
