Cameron, I was just looking at those classes.
There seem to be 3 May classes which would cost over $2000. That's very reasonable. I would have a general question for all before I would make such an investment. The question I have is this: There are many technologies out there to develop Web applications and Web sites. Why does everyone feel that Flex will cease such a foothold to warrant the investment? I'm not negative on the product, it's just a typical question when you're looking to invest time and dollars. Flex, Silverlight, AJAX, Flash, these technologies are not that simple to learn from a dead stop. You mention being willing to pay to learn from someone. I would highly recommend attending a Flex training class. They may cost a little more than you had in mind, but they will definitely give you that running start that you may be looking for. Echo Eleven is a good local shop that does Flex training, and it does look like they have classes in the next few weeks: http://www.echoeleven.com/ Otherwise, feel free to continue posting to the list. There are certainly alot of very smart people here who are willing to try to help. I will say though, that you are asking alot of "big picture" questions, and that a training class may be a better way to get ramped up to the knowledge level that I think you aspire to. I know that the folks on this list will continue to try to help you, but sometimes the list is better at "getting someone past a sticking point" than it is ramping someone up form a standing start with Flex. -Cameron -- Cameron Childress Sumo Consulting Inc http://www.sumoc.com --- cell: 678.637.5072 aim: cameroncf email: [email protected] ------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this list, simply email the list with unsubscribe in the subject line For more info, see http://www.affug.com Archive @ http://www.mail-archive.com/discussion%40affug.com/ List hosted by http://www.fusionlink.com ------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this list, simply email the list with unsubscribe in the subject line For more info, see http://www.affug.com Archive @ http://www.mail-archive.com/discussion%40affug.com/ List hosted by http://www.fusionlink.com -------------------------------------------------------------
