Laurence, I would suggest getting formal training if this is going to be a career for you; there is nothing like hands on training. However, if you are doing this stuff as a hobby, www.lynda.com has full video training on ColdFusion 8, Actionscript 3 and Flex 3; taught guy a CF, AS and Flex certified instructor. The cost to have access to the site is about $300 for the year. You can then pace what you want to learn when you want to learn it. Going through an organized class room course is great, but you can't replay that over and over and over if you don't get it the first time. On top of that, you have access to all the other possibly connecting technologies for you project (.net, ASP, Joomla, etc.) I would recommend you review it before plopping down $2000 for a one time training experience. IF you take all those courses, you know 75% of all you need to know. The rest you can learn on various forums online. Yes, it can be rocket science, but if you live in space, it's a way of life! :-).
