You're likely to at the least need to know the following about CF to use CFCs as a Flex Remoting source: - CFQUERY and database access - CFCOMPONENT / CFFUNCTION / CFRETURN tags - Basic understanding of programming using CF - Basics about the CF Administrator, particularly around setting up datasources. All of this is covered quite well in the basic online docs: http://livedocs.adobe.com/coldfusion/8/ The wizards *will* generate CF code for you to use, but the second you need something more than what the wizards provide, you'll need to start learning the CFML language. As far as learning how Flex and CF interact, as others have mentioned, there is a good bit of information about this available on the Adobe site. You might start with this collection of articles, but there is more out there if you look for it. http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashremoting/cfcs.html If the documentation and articles aren't enough I would also suggest using Google to search for more information. There are literally hundreds of blog posting explaining Remoting with CF from points of view that differ from Adobe's. -Cameron -- Cameron Childress Sumo Consulting Inc http://www.sumoc.com --- cell: 678.637.5072 aim: cameroncf email: [email protected] ------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this list, simply email the list with unsubscribe in the subject line For more info, see http://www.affug.com Archive @ http://www.mail-archive.com/discussion%40affug.com/ List hosted by http://www.fusionlink.com -------------------------------------------------------------
