I'm a bit confused now. Yesterday's call for proposals seemed to be a
request for some sponsor to come forward to take care of managing
Hamakor's server. Now, the discussion seems to be about getting services
provided by a sponsor.

Wikis, forums and the like, tend to not need the sysadmin's attention
beyond the initial install, or upgrade (or other application upgrade
(Apache/MySQL/etc) which manages to break the Wiki)

So what exactly are we looking for now?

Not true. It was rejected because maintaining it is an administrative
nightmare. If and when we have a better friends/members tracking
program, we can integrate the mail server and the members database
(Lingnu has done such things before). Until such time, this is
    just too
    much work.

Forwarding address is good enough, letting people use hamakor
addresses will provide great publicity for hamakor.
The more it is seen the better, I think it's worth putting some effort
into it.
People should feel belong to hamakor they should feel they get added
value by being members.

In any case, such a system will not allow for local storage of mail,
only a forwarding address. Reason being that the space is better used
    for mirrors.

Ok, I guess I should have wrote those lines here:)

I'm in favor of at least the forums. I'm not sure I want a wiki, and
not, say, just a CMS. The pros and cons are worth thinking about.

Could be that you are right, anyhow I think we should try to get
hosting that has the possibilty for things like that
should they be needed in the future.
And should you decide to go forward with your electronic voting
suggestion;)
