I don't have any real experience with this as was requested for this thread but this looks like it might be an attractive solution. If anybody out there has an Audioengine D1 and an iPod, I'd love to know if it works well. Another nice thing about this DAC is that it also accepts optical toslink so if iPeng ever gets ported to the AppleTV, that might be a nice replacement for a Squeezebox receiver ($99 + $170). I am also wondering if a RaspberryPi running squeezeslave -> USB DAC might be a viable 24bit /192KHz option ($35+$170).
