Do you use iPeng with the display on? Do you use another remote control (not IR, but another iPeng or the Squeezebox web interface) If you turn the display off and you have another remote, you could use the "preserve connection" setting. It will keep iPeng alive until you set it's "power" state to off after which it will go to sleep after 10 minutes.
