Yes, it does. It's a fairly high-end receiver (Yamaha RX-A3010) and it supports sample rates up to 24 bit/192 KHz (even 8 discrete channels) over HDMI. The receiver is most certainly not the limiting factor. As stated, when I connect a Blu-Ray player to it using HDMI, it will play CDs and flacs (using UPnP/DLNA on the Blue-Ray player) with any sample rate I throw at it just fine. Of course, the SqueezeBox Touch I have (connected using SPDIF) also works fine with 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz and 96 kHz including stereo flacs and surround (DD, DTS) files wrapped into flac format. The only reason I started experimenting with iPod/iPad devices connected to the receiver is in case my SqueezeBox Touch dies, knowing that Logitech has stopped supporting it. I'm particularly interested in connections that would support pass-thru for flac or PCM formats that contain SPDIF wrapped Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 surround streams, as I have a fair amount of music that way. For regular stereo I can just use the UPnP/DLNA client function of the receiver itself (in combination with the Yamaha iOS or Android app) - unfortunately that input does not support pass-thru for surround formats. LMS and iPeng do support it, provided the path to the receiver doesn't touch the bitstream at all. I thought HDMI would be my best bet, and it does not turn out to be a bad bat at all, except that iOS seems to think it needs to resample to 48 kHz with the Digital AV adapter plugged in,. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ vinnie_tw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58556 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96304 _______________________________________________ diy mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/diy
