You answered right at the moment I sent my comment. I'm willing to add schema-evolution into django. The reason is simple - I like db refactoring, and like the way manage.py syncdb works. And I always try to do synthesis of all good solutions and create the best one or find compromise at least. Derek disappeared three weeks ago (i mailed him two weeks ago with no answer). Deep into studying i think. And code became outdated after sprint (of course). So I started updating the code yesterday. It is not required for this project to be integrated into Django itself anymore, but I think good solution of schema-evolution should be placed in the django project to never become outdated like it is now. Also I realized today that I don't want to write patches to django. Mostly because this process is very inefficient to people from outside - I get no feedback on tickets unless I raise the question in this conference. And you can't commit current patches, marked 'ready-to-checkin', for months. How do I become committer in this situation? :) -- Best regards, Yuri V.
