Go to www.chillblast.co.uk .. I was having a lot of problems with my Athlon
1.4 overheating until I got a new heatsink.. Even though the one I was using
was supposed to be OK up to 1.4 it just didn't cut the mustard!!

Personally I'd go for an Alpha PAL.. Not cheap but it lowered my cpu
temperature by about 15 degrees! The other thing to look at is a better
case.. Plenty at chillblast as well...

cheers,

NICK

When installing HSF's, its always a good idea to scrape off the thermal pad
that is on the unit. Then clean it with a little rubbing alcohol, and
acquire some good thermal paste, like Arctic Silver 2 (its cheap too). This
allows for optimal heat transfer between the heatsink and the cpu as the
standard thermal pads perform quite below what most people consider "good".
Hope this helps ya a bit.
