Wow!  Kelly Blue Book puts a "Fair" condition (two steps down from Excellent) 
private party sale value at $2300 and change for my area.  I figured I'd let 
someone talk me down from $2500 to 2000 or 1750  I had always thought Kelly's 
to be reliable.  Dealership trade in value is only $1300...  so I would think 
your dealership trade in of $2200 would have netted $4000+ for a private sale 
value.
