Nope, the servo splines are not standardized, sadly.
I guess it's like wire-to-board connectors, then. I need HELP with
that...all my projects seem to need to connect to wires going somewhere,
and often on a vehicle. Every other thing on a vehicle has a nifty
connector that's the right size & amperage & everything, but they're all
different and incompatible, and if you find one that you think might
work for your project, then it's either unobtainium or you have to buy a
$1000 crimper to make up the other side.

I use a Molex 63811-1000 tool for most crimping most connector contacts. It works really well. You can't see it easily in the photos, but it has the curved shape that bends the 2 flanges inward and onto the wire or insulation (many crimps have 2, one for the metal, one for strain relief), so you get great results.

The 2 downsides compared to expensive tools are a lack of compound mechanical action, which is fine for crimping a small number but gets tiring if you do hundreds of crimps, and the lack of ratcheting mechanism that forces a complete mechanical cycle, which again is fine if you're careful doing a small number, but you wouldn't want to give it to an easily distracted employee / minion doing hundreds or thousands of crimps.

Dorks, please help!

How can I find board-to-connector sets that are small, weather-rugged,
medium current (up to ~10A), and don't require crazy tooling?

Thanks for any clues.
