Second on the Metcal stuff, if you want to spend the money. BUT pretty 
expensive.

I have a Hakko FX-888D at home, and I think it’s completely acceptable. If you 
don’t mind spending a little more, though, I would go for the FX-951, which has 
better temperature control/faster heating, quick-change tips (easy to change 
while hot), and a larger selection of tips. We have one at work, and it’s been 
very good.

For either one, it will come with a general purpose tip, but you’ll need to 
order any others you like to use separately.
