Sounds like Einstein gets itself wedged in some busy loop constantly
trying to do something that fails, and this causes one of your CPUs to
be pegged by it, and it unresponsive in requests to quit.
You could try running it, finding out its process ID, e.g. 42, then
doing
strace -tt -p 42 -o /tmp/einstein.st
which will attached to PID 42, like a debugger, and monitor all the
system calls it's doing, dumping them to /tmp/einstein.st. Now start
Amarok, give it time to get going and then quit Einstein. Once Einstein
finishes, so will strace. The end of the einstein.st may be
interesting, or there may be too much noise so tell what's going on.
:-) The -tt gives a time each syscall occurred, which may help if you
know when Amarok was started.
Cheers,
Ralph.
