Doug Smith <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I've been reading the material available on various web sites and thinking about adding a first IF, "roofing", filter to my R-4C. I use the rig for rag chewing on CW (and occasionally SSB) and also for CW contests. The new filter would only be to enhance CW ops during contests. But, normal SSB operation must be retained.
There is the Sherwood option, the 600 Hz first IF filter. I'm not sure I'm reading the Sherwood Engineering web site correctly but it *appears* that one would need the filter, the filter switch kit and the custom front panel switch. That option totals $300. There is also the GUF-1 from International Radio. It's 8 KHz so not quite the same thing but no doubt a huge improvement. That option is $120. Any thoughts or experiences? 73, -Doug, W7KF ---------------------------------------------------------------------- On Behalf of Doug Smith <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Submissions: [email protected] Unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - unsubscribe drakelist in body Hopelessly Lost: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - help in body of message Zerobeat Web Page: http://www.zerobeat.net Brought to you courtesy of TLCHost.net http://www.tlchost.net/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------
