I do a lot of e-bay transactions, both as buyer and seller. So far,
very few issues and nothing unresolved. E-bay provides a source of gear
that is hard to find elsewhere and provides a pool of buyers that is
hard to duplicate. It works, period.

I disagree with people who say e-bay means you'll pay too much or
everything there is junk, or (my favorite) that all e-bay sellers are
crooks. Sorry, but a lot of sellers are no more honest or dishonest
than the sellers on QTH.com or any other classifieds site.

In all cases you need to know what your buying and do the deal with your
eyes open.

Personally, I prefer e-bay sellers with feedback rating in the 100's,
accumulated over many years to the sellers with ratings in the
thousands. A feedback rating in the 1000's means he's a dealer and
you're more likely to be treated as a number. Three of the four issues
I've had have been with these sellers.

And I very much appreciate the "warning" about Radio-Mart. I've looked
at his stuff and have been tempted many times, but so far he's never had
just what I was looking for. With the new info, I can be a bit more
wise about reviewing what he has for sale. Thanks!
